All of these reasons are as valid today as they were in the distant past. Friends gathered to raise homes and other buildings, celebrate joyous occasions, mourn sad events, and answered the call to musters or military duty.
Fortunately, we don't have an enemy to defend against or a burned home to replace, but many of us portray men and women that were either in the military, the militia, or were directly associated with them. We come together and "Muster" as a militia company would, so we can have our "military" skills in readiness.

We hold workdays at Fort Yargo, one of the local historical sites, so that we as Living Historians can work to rebuild and preserve the heritage that we have been fortunate to have been left with. While we are holding these work- days, we are able to interact with the public, and portray for them what life would have been like in the times that the site was active.
Members of the public have been very supportive of these workdays, and as our numbers grow, we hope to be able to be able to have these Living History presentations on a very regular basis.
I've just added a Page that shows some of the work we've been doing at Fort Yargo. Please enjoy it, and as we gather more pictures, we'll be adding them, as well. You can follow this link to view the Rangers Repair Fort Yargo page.
Below, you will find a listing of Gatherings for Social and Workday presentations. These events are primarily for public interaction, and require that if you come in period attire, you must be correct to the period of the site and the event portrayed.
